Does anybody know anything about this movie?

I know nothing more than a handful of reviews I've read on the boards at IMDB.com (some posts on John Malkovich's page, some on Sara Soleti's page). Every post praises the movie highly, some calling it breathtaking, a masterpiece, the best cinematic achievement ever, and so on and so forth.

Thing is, it doesn't even have a page on IMDB.com yet. I came up with absolutely nothing with a Google search, and I have no idea if there is an intended United States release (or when it might be).

Anyone know anything? I'm tempted to go buy the book that it's based on.

I'm very intrigued, to say the least.

I dunno, seems a little strange to me. You would think if it was truly as great as it seems there would be a lot more information on it.

Yeah, I think it's a hoax (probably to garner attention for a website that was mentioned in a handful of posts around the internet). It has a page on movietome.net or .com or whatever it is...but there is no information for it. Just the title. Even horrible B-movies garner more attention than this movie has. Searches all around the internet turn up nothing more than second hand accounts of the film.

Figured I'd post to see if anyone else had heard anything before dismissing it as a hoax.

I agree, I think it's a hoax...Im pretty sure actually. These people aren't claiming the movie is plaining to be made, or is in production - they are claiming they already saw it. And for a movie to be praised that much and there to be NO information on what people are already claiming to have seen, is a little weird. Not to mention we have already seen a movie THROUGH John Malkovich's eyes so it would seem kinda unoriginal to have something called John Malkovich's Eyes.

Agreed. Only thing that gets me is the number of people talking about it, and the details they've put into it (such as specifics about certain scenes, even as far as spoilers...and comments about it being based on a novel, giving an Iranian writer/director's name to tie in with it, etc). Pretty good hoax, if I do say so myself. They covered their bases well.

Yeah, I believe it's a troll with too much time on their hands. If you look at all the different names posting about it and look at their posting history, like all of them have 2 posts, one on the Malkovich board, and the other on the director board. The dude created about 6 different accounts looks like to me.

Bumping an old thread. For some reason I thought about this subject again tonight, and decided to go back and check to see if there was anymore information about it.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000518/board/nest/10977145

A few more people have posted in that thread...and now I'm again uncertain whether it's an obscure foreign film or an intricate hoax. One member, "Yoana" (even though she's only posted twice on IMDB, both times about this movie) goes into pretty creative detail about being unhappy that Solati put all three of her novels into one movie. Another guy posted screen captures that are supposedly from the film. "Yoana" goes on to say that the screenshots are from the first segment, which is about so-and-so, and that the second and third segments are better. The same guy that linked the screenshots also included a link to the movietome.com page for the movie, which is now complete with a runtime (90 minutes), a complete cast listing, etc.

There seems to be quite a bit of very specific information about this film popping up here and there...but still nothing remotely definite. Not sure what to make of it all. Any other thoughts?

Hmmm this is becoming very interesting. Something still seems a bit fishy to me. I need to investigate further into this.

JP, an interesting development here. The movie now appears to be listed on IMDB!http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0429766/

I'll be damned.

The genre is listed as mystery. Hm, maybe it actually is out there. If so, I really, really want to see it.
