The sale of MMC. Details, reasons, the works.

after 3 years of being proud owner of mmc, i am deciding to let it out of my hands.

i've put a lot of time, money, and effort into this, but i feel like i have passed the apex of the site. I am no longer able to put forth enough effort to run the site properly.

Earlier today i received an email with a proposition to purchase the site from me. After hours of negotiations, # talking, and other considerations, i decided to go through with the deal. I signed the deal at 9:43pm to make it final. I will have until wednesday at midnight to remove any branding on the site such as moo crew, admins, mods, names of owners, etc. At that time, i as well will no longer be an admin, however i beleive i will continue as a mod as long as time permits.

As for other mods, i beleive the new owner is going to hold "mod elections" of sorts to get a new board staff in place. i think its a good idea.

so, who's the new owner you ask?

Well, none of you will probably know the guy. His name is Chad roberts, and he has long been an MMC fan, but never has been a forum member or anything. He lives in Tyler Tx, and is an old e-friend of sorts with me. We met up tonight to make the deal final.

he's a cool guy, and has a good crew that plans to continue adding videos and such to mmc. He should be posting here sometime tommorrow to introduce himself.

not a whole lot should change though... at least i dont think so. Though, the domain name may change. in fact, more than likely will.

it's been real, and im sorry to just drop you guys like this, but its something i had to do. plus, well, it was an offer i could not refuse.

I love some of you, i hate some of you. I will BBQ with some of you in the future.

I almost sold an old site I ran (fbpro.com) to Sierra before their sierra sports divison fell apart mid-negotiation, so I'm happy for you getting the opportunity to get out of it before you don't make anything. I eat my meat straight out of the package. I've been known to stuff ENTIRE packages of beef into my mouth and swallow without even chewing once. Its a true story, I have two plaques on the wall and a trophy on the counter to prove it.

Heh, but on a more serious note. You really need to take your medication more regularly. You should also see a doctor about that whole excess extrogen problem you have as well, I'm sure there is some kind of testosterone shot you can self-administer daily to fix that.

If this is a joke, it is the most cruel thing you could have ever thought to do to me, cause I promise you, this hurts me more than anyone. Brandon, at least as it seems, is getting a very large amount of money out of this. I on the other hand, have nothing to take with me but memories.

3 years, and 3 months later, it comes to an end. My life has been molded around this. In my closet, a handmade $350 jacket that says MILKMYCOW.COM, on my car, in a box with 14 t-shirts in it, on 2 sweaters, on my helmet, on my computer, on my computer desktop, on my business cards, on the framed newspaper article on my wall. My life. Milkmycow.com. My friends, Milkmycow.com. The one thing I valued more than my car, my anything, this site.

But a site afterall is just a site. I suppose what I value so much is the memories that go hand in hand with "Milkmycow.com". Everything from shaking hands with dave porter, editor of the news, mike anderson, mayor of mesquite, juan davilla, owner of Dos Pancas, Mike, Owner of Lonestarwings, and a slew of people, under the guise of "That guy from Milkmycow.com". My friends, which I have today, have come and gone from, and because of, MMC. Opinions, storys, a community that became a disfunctional family that I was addicted to, was this site.

In the beginning, MMC was just us buddies. We filmed all the time, we hung out almost every night. We were crazy on and off camera, we loved MMC, wore our shirts even when they were dirty, and slowly, became well known around the area. And it got better and better our senior year.

I suppose the true downfall of MMC beagan when we were at Blinn. We still had some steam goin, but when graeme finally snapped, and him and brandon ceased to be friends, it started to crumble. Then graemes camera, the one we used, got stolen. That set us back. Moves, jobs, girls, LIFE, set in, and the life that was Highschool MMC was never to be again.

We had good ideas, and new friends, like kyles weekly update. But the site, althought technically growing, was losing the steam that we all knew it once had..

Now this. The end. Why? Why did he have to sell it? If he didnt want to take care of it anymore, I would have taken it. I would have nursed it back to health. But like he said "it was an offer he could not refuse".

I saw hope in MMC. I still do. And this new owner must as well, because afterall, he would not have bought it if he didnt think that.

To all of my friends, if you are really my friend, then you will remain my friend despite all of this nonsense. I will hold back more comments on this matter until I speak to the new owner personally.

To the best years of my life, to the lessons, the fun, but most of all the friends, thank you. I will never forget this chapter of my life. My children will know the story by heart.

for once, i agree with jerry. Why sell out the site. Everything you and jared have done with the site, why throw it away on a whym of an offer.
