ill go ahead and say u win, unless aviator is hulk-like. and i was kidding about the $46 tho my tickets were like 8.50 each.

its like, the movie went so slow. not a big mouse trap ending like the last one.. well there was, but a boring one that had little/no action.

Oh, sorry sir. Also, Golden Globes were announced today! Aviator has 6 noms! And kill bill has 2 - including Carrdine which I was really hoping for. Yay.

Best Actress nomination for Kidman?
Best Actress nomination for Zellweger?

...and worst of all, a Best Picture nomination for Phantom? The only nomination that film deserves (which it got) is Best Actress, for Emmy Rossum.

On the plus side, Eternal Sunshine got a bunch of nominations, as did Nip/Tuck and Desperate Housewives.

The Golden Globes are a really hit-or-miss awards ceremony. I feel sorry for them, being forced to include Phantom of the Opera prior to hearing the reaction to it's release. I guarantee you that it'll be released to such a poor reaction that they'll regret that nomination. It's not a horrible film, but it wasn't a good one, either.

Ah well, interesting stuff.

Yeah, i'm realstic about it and know that all the films that deserve nominations won't get them and some that didn't will. Nicole Kidman seems to be a favorite at the GG as well Meryl Streep, who got nominated for The Manchurian Candidate. I think she could be in a razzie award winning film and still be nominated. Like I said i'm just glad Carradine got the nom.

All's I know is that I need to see Sideways as soon as possible. I LOVED Election and liked About Schmidt a lot. Payne is a great director and I hear awesome things about the film. Like a lot of the best films of the year, though, it got a very limited release and I wasn't able to see it. I know the DVD won't be out for quite some time. I'm thinking about just downloading it for now.

I'm awaiting DVD releases to see the year's great films...and there are so many to wait for. Garden State, Million Dollar Baby, Closer, Sideways, Vera Drake, House of Flying Daggers, and so on.

I intend to see The Aviator in the theater, and I saw a few at that marathon I went to this weekend. I'll also probably see Ocean's 12 with some friends. Other than those...I saw Napoleon Dynamite in the theater, bought Eternal Sunshine, and bought Kill Bill 2, and I think that's it for me and 2004 movies.

Some bright spots, but a weak year all-around, IMO.

I hear Maria Full Of Grace is excellent

As did I. It did well at Sundance, and Ebert opened his commentary with, "I love it when I find a film that I can't wait to tell people to look for, and Maria Full of Grace is one of those films." It was included in my "and so on" list, along with The Brown Bunny, and a couple of others.

too bad the aviator cuts off before he goes nuts, saves all his urine, does not bathe and grows his nails out so long they curl, tapping his toenails habitually, wearing kleenex shoes etc...
