it also seems the at this day comes after a war which sends the country into huge government debt and current account deficits

like with the egyptians, romans, the moghals, the british and the russians

if im not mistaken

the US is in a war

the US is having some of its largest budget deficits in history and its current account deficit is insanely large

maybe the end is near?

and bring your troops

If the war was too taxing on America, we'd be out of Iraq already.

Take the Roman Empire for instance, they didn't collapse within a day because they overextended themselves. Slowly they began pulling back their lines and consolidated what they could control. That is why remnants of the empire lasted until the 1400s.

I wouldn't be so haughty to believe that America is going to break itself conquering a country no larger than Arkansas.

Hahah, speaking of nuclear war, today in debate this guy who does policy debate was talking to our teacher about their resolution. It had something to do with nuclear war, and he was saying that in negating it we should just have a nuclear war now becuase there isnt enough nukes to destroy the entire planet, but in the future if we do have one everyone will be dead. It was a really assbackwards argument, but it made sense in theory. All i kept thinking the whole time "...if 35000 nukes were launched, and if some people lived, how would the radiation be cleaned up...". It was a really funny argument
